Using information from an official press release, USA Today reported on Burger King UK’s latest digital campaign, “Singing in the Shower.” As a way to promote their new sausage, egg, and bacon sandwich, “Breakfast in Bread,” the fast food chain has set up a website that offers clips of a 20-year-old London woman lathering up while crooning pop songs.
The interactive campaign, which began on December 8, 2009, gives viewers the chance to the vote on which songs the model will perform, as well as help pick the bikini she dons for the performance. In addition, one visitor will win a date with the “BK Shower Girl” after submitting an entry in the campaign’s essay contest.
In the release, Burger King UK and Ireland’s Marketing Director Sarah Power says watching the videos on “the world’s first guilt-free showercam” will “help [UK patrons] work up an appetite for our fantastic new breakfast range.” In addition to Breakfast in Bread, the new morning offerings include smaller, more traditional breakfast sandwiches and a pair of bite-sized snacks.
The BK Shower Girl will continue to “shake her bits to the hits” until Christmas Eve.
