Domino’s Pizza has reportedly stocked its nearly 9,000 locations with extra ingredients and even hired additional workers in preparation for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
According to an official release, the 50-year-old pizza delivery chain expects to sell 2.3 million pizzas between December 31 and January 1. Domino’s spokesperson Chris Brandon describes these two holidays as ranking highest in sales among the five busiest days of the year for the restaurant.
In a likely attempt to capitalize on the popularity of its product in the coming days, Domino’s has scheduled its new advertising campaign to begin this week. Consisting of national television commercials, nationwide product samplings, and a barrage of social media components, the campaign seeks to inform customers of Domino’s new recipe. Dubbed the “Inspired New Pizza,” the reinvented product consists of a newly-seasoned crust, a “bolder” marinara sauce, and a reworked marinara-provolone cheese blend. The ads all also highlight a new limited-time offer: two medium, 2-topping pizzas for $5.99 each.
The reinvented pizza became available at all Domino’s locations on December 27.
