Big Boy Restaurants earlier this month announced plans to open “@burger,” the company’s entry into the fast casual restaurant segment. As first reported on AnnArbor.com, Big Boy CEO Keith Sirois asserts that @burger will feature a rotating menu consisting primarily of “five to six burgers plus the option to build your own burger.” Customers will also have their choice of salads, chicken sandwiches, and french fries.
Papa John’s Pizza announced yesterday that it has chosen television personalities Ted Allen and Rich Eisen to help choose three finalists for Papa’s Specialty Pizza Challenge.
The award-winning restaurant currently has eight specialty pizzas on its menu, but looks to add one more with its latest original recipe contest. The competition, which began on April 26, challenges customers to create their own, unique specialty pizza, using up to seven items from a list of ingredients already used in Papa John’s kitchens.
Whataburger this week re-introduced its popular Chop House Cheddar Burger, back for the summer after a yearlong absence from the restaurant’s menu.
The sandwich consists of two American beef patties, complemented with bacon, grilled onions, melted cheddar cheese, and steak sauce. Like the chain’s signature offering — the Whataburger — the Chop House Cheddar Burger now comes in two sizes, original (1170 calories) and junior (630 calories).
Burger King on Monday debuted its newest menu offering, a revamped Tendergrill Chicken Sandwich — now served on toasted ciabatta bread made with whole wheat flour.
Arby’s Restaurant Group, Inc. announced yesterday that the company has hired thirty-year restaurant veteran Warren Chang as their new Chief Innovation Officer.
According to an official news release, in his new position, Chang “will be responsible for leading innovation and change initiatives in the areas of product development, quality improvement, and the customer experience.”
Whataburger will offer its most popular breakfast sandwich for free on the morning of June 22, 2010.
Tomorrow, for three hours, the Texas-based hamburger chain will give each customer one Breakfast on a Bun sandwich at no charge. Diners can customize the sandwich, which starts with egg and a slice of American cheese, by adding either bacon or pork sausage. They also have the option of having their meal served “Ranchero Style” — topped with sliced jalapenos and fresh picante sauce.
