Arby’s Restaurant Group, Inc. announced yesterday that the company has hired thirty-year restaurant veteran Warren Chang as their new Chief Innovation Officer.
According to an official news release, in his new position, Chang “will be responsible for leading innovation and change initiatives in the areas of product development, quality improvement, and the customer experience.”
The addition of Chang caps a month filled with corporate developments for the forty-six-year-old quick-service sandwich chain. In May, Arby’s hired a new President, Hala Moddelmog. Shortly afterwards, the restaurant, known primarily for its sliced roast beef sandwiches, entered into separate licensing agreements in order to sell retail versions of its sauces, as well as another, unknown group of products in supermarkets. Most recently, Arby’s Restaurant Group has made headlines for its development agreement with franchising group Tab Gida Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. — who will help the company open 100 new franchise locations in Turkey — and reports of a possible acquisition of parent company Wendy’s/Arby’s Group, Inc.
Other restaurants adding new marketing executives include Domino’s Pizza Group, which hired Simon Wallis as their new Sales and Marketing Director, and Sonic Corp (operator of Sonic, America’s Drive-In), which named Danielle Vona their new Chief Marketing Officer.
