Whataburger this week re-introduced its popular Chop House Cheddar Burger, back for the summer after a yearlong absence from the restaurant’s menu.
The sandwich consists of two American beef patties, complemented with bacon, grilled onions, melted cheddar cheese, and steak sauce. Like the chain’s signature offering — the Whataburger — the Chop House Cheddar Burger now comes in two sizes, original (1170 calories) and junior (630 calories).
Whataburger will offer its most popular breakfast sandwich for free on the morning of June 22, 2010.
Tomorrow, for three hours, the Texas-based hamburger chain will give each customer one Breakfast on a Bun sandwich at no charge. Diners can customize the sandwich, which starts with egg and a slice of American cheese, by adding either bacon or pork sausage. They also have the option of having their meal served “Ranchero Style” — topped with sliced jalapenos and fresh picante sauce.
Whataburger has created a new holiday for its latest promotion, during which customers can add jalapeños to any entrée for free.
During Free Jalapeño Week, the Southwestern-U.S. hamburger chain will forgo the $0.45 charge it usually assesses customers who want to top their Whataburger or breakfast Taquito with the green chili pepper. Also as part of the event, on Tuesday, eight different locations will host firefighters and police officers as they take part in jalapeño-eating contests for charity. A press release issued by the restaurant claims that $8,000 in all will go to a number of different charities.
Free Jalapeño Week comes on the heels of several unique promotions. Last November, Whataburger hosted “Orange Night Out,” on which customers who entered participating restaurants sporting the company’s trademark color received a free hamburger. Later in the winter, the chain reduced the price of its Taquitos and also hosted twelve separate giveaways for its email subscribers.
Whataburger celebrates its 60th Anniversary this summer. Free Jalapeño Week begins today and ends January 17.
In a press release, 59-year old hamburger chain Whataburger announced that, beginning today, it will offer its popular taquito for only $0.99.
Down from $1.89-$1.99, the Whataburger Taquito consists of scrambled eggs wrapped in a tortilla, along with either sausage, bacon, or potato. Customers can customize their taquito by adding any combination of cheese, jalapenos, onions, and picante sauce.
As with all items on the Whataburger breakfast menu, the taquito can only be purchased from 11PM to 11AM. It will return to its regular price after January 18, 2010.
