Zaxby’s Debuts New Commercial for Its Kickin’ Chicken Sandwich Meal

Zaxby’s employs Pro Football Hall of Famer and NFL analyst Terry Bradshaw in its latest television commercials touting the popular Kickin’ Chicken Sandwich.

Though primarily known for its chicken wings and unique dipping sauces, in recent years, the fast-casual chicken chain has heavily promoted the Kickin’ Chicken Sandwich in its advertising campaigns.  In a news release announcing the Bradshaw-centered spots, Zaxby’s CEO and co-founder Zach McLeroy describes the sandwich — a mix of  several of the restaurant’s staples, including fried chicken strips, Tongue Torch buffalo wing sauce and Texas toast — as his favorite menu offering and one that “truly represents Zaxby’s and [its] menu attitude.”

Animal activist group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has asked for permission to place anti-KFC advertisements on Indianapolis, IN fire hydrants.

USA Today earlier reported that the mayor of the Midwestern-U.S. city entered into a non-traditional agreement with KFC that allows the restaurant to place ads for its new Fiery Grilled Wings on city-owned fire hydrants.  In a press release, Tracy Reiman, Executive Vice President of PETA, claims to have matched the fast food chain’s offer of $7,500 for one month of advertising.

Papa John’s Pizza Celebrates New Year’s Eve with Free Cinnapies

Tonight, Papa John’s Pizza will treat revelers at the official “New Year’s Eve in Times Square” party with coupons for a free Cinnapie.

Citing information from a company news release, Advertising Age reported yesterday that Papa John’s Founder and CEO John Schnatter will host one of several hourly countdowns at the celebration.  Counting down to the end of the 9 PM hour, Schnatter will address the crowd of thousands from atop a stage situated between 46th Street and 47th Street before signaling a “confetti” drop of coupons good for one free cinnamon-and-brown-sugar-struesel dessert.  Finally, in line with his “Papa’s in the House” series of television commercials, Schnatter will personally dispense pizzas throughout the crowd.

Taco Bell Brings “Fresco” Menu Items to Drive-Thru

Taco Bell has launched its new advertising campaign, the first for its Fresco menu options.

In addition to the restaurant’s regular menu board, drive-thru customers will now also encounter the “Drive-Thru Diet Menu,” as announced in a press release.  The menu highlights seven items that all consist of nine grams of fat or less.  This group of tacos and burritos all come with Taco Bell’s exclusive blend of diced tomatoes, white onions, and cilantro — Fiesta Salsa — in place of cheese and taco sauce.

Using information from an official press release, USA Today reported on Burger King UK’s latest digital campaign, “Singing in the Shower.”  As a way to promote their new sausage, egg, and bacon sandwich, “Breakfast in Bread,” the fast food chain has set up a website that offers clips of a 20-year-old London woman lathering up while crooning pop songs.

On Wednesday, January 13, 2009, Carl’s Jr. customers can have lunch with Kim Kardashian.

The event, dubbed “The Ultimate Salad Lunch Date,” will give anyone who purchases one of the California-based burger chain’s three new premium grilled chicken entrée salads the chance to spend an hour with the reality television star as she answers fan questions via  Facebook webcast, according to a press release issued by Carl’s Jr.
